Hygiene items are an absolute necessity for homeless veterans.
“We always need hygiene items 24/7, 365,” HVAF’s Outreach Coordinator Rodney Jackson said.
Every day, Navy veteran Rodney Jackson serves veterans in Indianapolis’ homeless camps. Because of this, Rodney understand the needs of our veterans. He knows that our veterans are always in need of soap, shampoo, deodorant, and more to stay clean and healthy. Rodney is always grateful for our donors who allow him to deliver these needs to homeless veterans. He is especially thankful for Clean the World and CNO Financial Group – who put together 700 hygiene kits for our veterans! Since 2009, Clean the World has distributed 53 million bars of soap and 5 million hygiene kits. Recently, the organization started encouraging others to purchase a Soap Saves Lives Box. Individuals, groups, or businesses assemble and distribute these boxes to those in need. After hearing about this new initiative, CNO assembled more than 10 boxes for HVAF’s veterans.
“This means a great deal because a lot of homeless don’t have the necessary supplies they need or can’t afford to buy them,” Rodney said. “Kits like these come in handy so they can take a shower at shelters around the city.”
Thank you, Clean the World & CNO, for ensuring our veterans have the hygiene that they NEED and DESERVE!
