Christmas came early for two special veterans!

Our partners at Geico gave veterans, Romello and Kyle, new cars today on this global day of charitable giving.

Hear from Army Veteran Kyle:

Kyle has loved having Jaulane (left) as his case manager. He said he wouldn’t want anyone else to help him!

Kyle first came to HVAF in July because he needed a place to live. Currently, he lives at one of HVAF’s transitional houses: Warman.

“They’ve helped me get established with getting my own place and employment, and getting me through school,” Kyle said. “Living at Warman is the best transition for me. You have the camaraderie of your buddies that you miss in the Army, and at the same time you’re slowly reintegrating back into society.”

Kyle also said he looks forward to having a reliable means of transportation to see his two daughters.

“I haven’t been able to see them in a long time,” Kyle said. “And this will make it so I can go see them!”

Army National Guard Veteran Romello also received a car. He first came to HVAF this past spring, when he lived in his car and his dad called to ask for help. Now with his new car, he can better support his family.

“I can drive my kids to appointments and drive myself to work,” Romello said. “I am really thankful and happy to receive this car!”
